So, it’s January.  That’s a good time to start something new, right?  So they say.  In my opinion, there’s no bad time to start something new.  (Disclosure:  that’s a brand new attitude!)

Last year, I turned 40 and made a promise to myself that I’d pursue things I had been putting off.  I also promised myself I’d say yes to more opportunities that came my way.

It all began with a photo on Instagram and a message from an old school friend.  I had laid out all of my books to offer them to people if they wanted them.  That was when I got the message suggesting that if I loved reading and sharing info about books so much that I should be reviewing said books and sharing more information on them.  This old friend just happened to run an online lifestyle magazine and just like that Girl Meets Book was born.

It has been a slow process building up trust with publishers and getting on their “lists” but I’m now very happy with where I’m at.  I don’t want to be inundated and to be letting people down because “life gets in the way”.  I’m a very busy mum – as well as countless other hats I wear (we will discuss them another time!) but I do want to share book reviews and information with you and I want to get your suggestions too!

And just like that, that’s the first blog post done.  I hope you’ll join me on this journey!

In the meantime, happy reading!

Girl Meets Book xoxo
